Critters Down Under

Image
There is a new critters set!  It is called Critters Down Under, so very cute!  The logs are not in this set, but from Critters in the Forest.  When I flipped them, they looked like the cut trees at the edge of a swamp.  We don't have crocodiles here in Florida, but alligators.  But this little guy could pose as either.  Since his mouth isn't super pointy...it is round like an alligators.  So this would be perfect if you lived in the south as well.  I bet I could make a cute little orange bandana (FL Gators colors), and give it to one of my daughters friends heading off to the University. This scene was stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink, and colored in with Copic markers.  The grass was created by using different shaded of green markers. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog , to see more projects, and for a chance to win this set. Make Lemonade

Image
Sometimes, I am in a mood to just sit and color.  Over the weekend I was able to hang out with a bunch of scrappers.  I didn't scrapbook, but instead stamped some images and colored them in (with copics).  I was able to show a newer stamper how to mask images.  When masking, remember the first image you stamp will be the dominant focal point, since you will see the entire image.  In this case, the focal point is the pitcher of lemonade.   This is such a sweet stamp set.  I think we all are given lemons far too often, but when you turn something sour like a lemon into something sweet like lemonade, well that is something to smile about.  I have a friend going through a rough patch, so I believe this card is perfect to put into the mail. Dad's Day

Image
There is a tropical storm called Beryl that passed though our town last night/today.  So, my internet connection has not been the best, but we never lost power, so I am grateful for that. Today the Lawn Fawn designers are showcasing a new stamp set called Dad's Day.  I chose to use this fun striped tie image for my card.  I stamped the tie onto card stock with different inks, cut them out, an adhered them to kraft card stock with foam tape.  I added Lawn Fawn hemp twine, and a sentiment in black ink, and this is a great card to give a man or father figure for Father's Day. Sunny Skies

Image
Lawn Fawn is releasing a few stamp sets this week, and today the designers are showcasing the Sunny Skies set.  Hop on over to the Lawn Fawn blog , to check out some great projects, as well as, leaving a comment to win this stamp set. This is just a really happy stamp set.  I love how there are a few smiley faces that can be stamped into the clouds or sun...or the kite.  I decided to stamp the clouds and sun, and color them in using Copic markers. I added some stickles to the sun, to make it more bright and happy.  There is just something about glitter that makes me happy.  The card seemed a little plain after I stamped the sentiment, so I added some bling, I thought about ribbon, but there really wasn't enough space for it.  The rhinestones were the perfect addition. Happy Father's Day

Image
I know we just celebrated Mother's Day, and I hope all of you Mothers out there had a wonderful day.  However, today I am sneaking part of June's stamp set from Avocado Arts, and it happens to have a Father's Day sentiment.   Masculine cards can be a little tricky, so I usually go back to basic stamping when making a card for a man/boy/dude/whatever lol.  Nothing frilly, simple, easy...best way to go when making a card for a guy. All of the Avocado Arts designers are posting today, so go and take a peek and what they made today as well. Caring Thoughts

Image
I'm showing another sneak of the May stamp set from Avocado Arts today.  I decided to make a card base from pattern paper, for a cool look.  Not all patterns will work with stamping on top of it, but if you play around, it is a lot of fun.  Because of the texture of the paper, the pattern can add depth to your stamped images. Here, I took some Lawn Fawn Bright Side pattern paper (the chevron kraft), created a card base, and then did simple stamping on the card front.  Very basic, will only need one stamp to mail it, and pretty enough to put on a desk or shelf.  So, it works for me.
