Avocado Arts April Sneak

Image
I really cannot believe it is almost April?!  Do you have any practical jokes planned for the first?  I am sure my son will try to do something, he is just like his father.  Always trying to be the funny guy. Well, since today is the 30th, I get to give you a little sneak of the Avocado Arts April stamp set.  The flowers are from the March set, and the rest are from the April set.  The little twine/thread packaging stamp was just too cute to pass on using.  I decided to wrap twine around them, and adhere them to the card using foam tape.  The sentiment is puny, and completes the theme perfectly. Another stamp set is being showcased today called Flying By, from Lawn Fawn.  To me it is a great masculine set.  It can be hard to make a simple card for a guy sometimes, but the simplicity of this set makes it so easy. Stamp sentiment onto green card stock, adhere to the card at an angle. 3. Trim excess. 4. Stamp paper airplanes and trail. 5. Stamp a few planes onto white card stock, adhere with glue dots.

Critters Ever After

Image
For the next few days, Lawn Fawn is having Inspiration Week.  So the designers are showcasing different projects everyday.  Today, I'm showing you a fun card using the Critters Ever After stamp set.  When I first saw this unicorn, I was seriously giddy.  As a child, I was seriously obsessed with them.  Anyhow, I wanted the card to be fun and bright, and just happy.  The unicorn is colored in with Copics, My Little Pony style.  This card I think would be wonderful to give to anyone who is a dreamer, young and old. Make sure you head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog , for a chance to win this stamp set. Also, take a visit to the designers blogs, and see what they made today. Deployment...and our hero

Image
Well... Today, was a day where I dreaded waking up.  From the moment I got up, it was fast and seemed to be moving much faster than I wanted.  As a military spouse, when your husband deploys, there is always a chance he will not come home.  So on our drive to base, I tried to remember everything, and engrain it into my memory.  How my hand fits into his, his voice, his smell, how much he loves our little family.  While he was driving, he would grab my hand and say, "I love you baby."  Those are the little things I will miss while he is gone.  Actually, it is those little things which make them everything.   It can really make me go crazy, thinking about his job, their mission, and where they are going.  I couldn't sleep last night, so I made him a card, and hid it in one of his bags.   Sometimes, people say to me, "well, you are used to it" or "You chose this life."  Let me clarify a few things.  No matter how long someone has been in the servi

Calendar Squares

The sun is shining outside, the temperature is great, but my heart is a little broken today.  My husband is packing his sea bags, he is deploying very, very soon.  I think we all are in denial a little bit, it kind of protects you from the overwhelming emotion of saying goodbye, denial is where I will stay a little bit longer.  I try to stay strong as long as possible, it is hard for the kids and Jess to see me upset, so the shower is my cry zone. Gosh, I'm really not ready to go through another deployment...that is what my heart is telling me. Go clean all your panties, its time to be a big girl...is what my brain is telling me. Anyhow, it is a tradition for a command to have a calendar, and everyday a new day/square is put up.  Here are a few of mine.  They are simple, but Jess is a manly man, and doesn't do frilly.  I just used really thick card stock, some of my favorite pictures and Avocado Arts stamps .  These are 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches.  These will be sent to the s
