How is your week going so far?  Things are busy in my house right now, but I'm not complaining.  I spent yesterday baking, so the family has some nice snacks for the next few days.  Right now, I'm in the middle of a ton of deadlines, so everything I'm making you will not see for a while, be it for upcoming design team work or for publication.  Hard work really pays off friends. Here is a little ditty, that I made a little while ago and to be honest, its a pub reject lol.  I still love it, its me, and right now I'm making a special gift for someone, and this card will probably go into the card gift set.  The stamps are from the Unity Stamp Co. the paper is from Jillibean Soup, and the fun hardware is Tim Holtz.  I hope you all have a wonderful day!! I'm a little sad, I cannot believe 6 months have gone by since starting to design for 2sketches4you .  It has been so awesome being on that design team, Laura and Kazan are wonderful to work with, not to mention the rest of the designers and awesome sponsors every week.  It really has been an honor that Laura and Kazan chose me to be on the team, the designers they choose are always top notch.  If you have not applied for the current DT call,  really you should try, its one of the best teams you will ever be a part of.  Good Luck to all of you who are applying.  I'm most excited to see who will be added to the team with the amazing Cheryl and Sankari.  Although this is my last card being a designer, I still plan on playing as much as possible. Wow, it has been forever since I have played along with the PTI blog hop, I forgot how fun they can be.    This month, you were to share your holiday ideas, be it cards, gift bags, wrap etc...  I decided to make a card that is pretty clean and simple, and it wouldn't be too hard to mass produce.  Right now for some reason I am really into pink, so this is not a traditional Christmas card, but I think its still super cute and my girly friends would love to receive this.  This could easily be turned into a one layer card, by stamping the stockings directly onto the card base, and instead of ribbon maybe put a few Kaiser pearls underneath the stockings.  This is a really fun stamp set, the possibilities really are endless. My husband and son were off at a Cub Scout cuboree camping trip this weekend, so it was just my daughter and myself.  It was really nice to spend quality time with her.  Yesterday, we made these paper ornaments, they were very easy to make.  My daughter cut and embossed blue metallic card stock using the Blossom 2 dies from Spellbinders.  For each ornament you will need to cut out two of the larger dies (in blue) then one smaller in white.  Before she cut out the white card stock, we printed off some digital stamps from Raindrop Echo designs, colored them in, then cut and embossed them.  She wanted to add a sentiment but we couldn't figure out where to put it, so we printed off a sentiment and attached it to the bottom of the ornament using twine.  I'm so proud of her, she even tied the bows herself.  If you have children, this was a lot of fun and an easy project to do.  I think I may enlist her more often to cut things in my Cuttlebug, I only had to show her once how to make

Last week, I got my Oct Unity kit of the month and here are a few cards I made with some of the images.  There are lots of fun stamps in this kit, it makes me happy :)  To get a little more dimension in the sock monkey, I used some Sakura Glaze pens to fill in the polka dots & to color in the hat, mittens and socks, I also did some faux stitching around the card as well.  That cool striped paper is from the Nook and Pantry line from Basic Grey. "friends" For this card, I used some Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper, and created a little mountain side scene.  The plane and banner are from the Oct kit as well.  I stamped, paper pieced them and then mounted them on foam tape for a little more dimension.  The snails and heart are from the Early Bird Chipboard elements.  I had fun making this card, its a little out of the box for me, but I think it will make the person I'm giving this to, really happy because its just one of those cards that make you smile. Today, the Flourishes design team are making cards using different folds.  For my card I did a criss cross card.  There is a wonderful tutorial on how to make this fold on SCS .  I used the Strawberries set for my sentiments, the card stock is Flourishes classic ivory, and the designer paper is the Wisteria line by Basic Grey.   This is a fairly easy fold to do, and its different than the usual standard card fold.  Head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter where Christine has a tutorial on different folds.  Mine is very simple as I'm battling a head cold, so be sure to visit the design teams blogs because they have some outstanding eye candy for you. Did any of you pick up the free digi stamp from Verve ?  Its so cute, its this set of mittens, and then a few sentiments (available until tomorrow).  If I remember right you have a few different choices on ways to use them.  One is all of the sentiments and image on a sheet of paper, then the other I think are png files where you can over lap them and change the size.  That is how I created this card, I just opened up the file, sized the mittens then drug the sentiment to overlap the mittens just a little.  I colored in the mittens using Copic markers then embossed and cut out the image with a Labels die from Spellbinders.  Using foam tape I adhered the embossed image onto a 4.25 square card base, added some ribbon and Kaiser pearls and waalaa a clean and simple Christmas card. There is a fun new sketch up over on 2sketches4you (and sponsor).  I hope you get a chance to play along this week.  Make sure to check in over there in the next week or so, I think they will be having a DT call.  My 6 months has gone by so fast, it really is an amazing group to work with.  I created a few treat containers this week, using the sponsors product, Creative Cuts.  I have to say, these were very easy to assemble, and user friendly.  The stickers I applied onto the containers are from Basic Grey (Eerie).  The hat pins are Making Memories, and the ribbon is PTI. Today I'm showing you a true one layer card.  The card base is by Bazzill , and it has a really nice texture to it, which makes the card seem not so flat.  First, I stamped the l edger background stamp, then I stamped the little girl/witch, followed by the halloween sentiment (both from Artistic Outpost & its on sale for $8, I paid full price).  Its really hard for me to make a card without using ribbon, so I punched a hole on either side of the girl, ran ribbon through (bazzill stitched grosgrain) and then tied a knot.  This card seriously only took like 7 minutes, super easy peasy.  I love it when things happen like that!  Now that I'm looking at the card, I think it would look better with black ribbon. On a side note, it got cold here fast.  Just a few days ago it was 90 degrees, and today its going to be 50, and tomorrow 40 degrees.  I don't do well at all at quick temperature changes, so hopefully my bones don't hurt too bad this week.  I hope all of you ha

Today is the final day of sneaks, and the last of the 6 sets.  All of the new sets are all so different and pretty, a little something for everyone looking for the perfect holiday stamp or stamps.  For my card I'm using the Christmas Wreath stamp set (available tonight).  This set has a two different sized wreaths, with sentiments.  This card isn't my normal style, but sometimes its fun to fancy things up a bit.  I stamped the wreath twice, colored them in using Copic markers, then cut them out using the Labels 9 die from Spellbinders, and decided I wanted to make a long card.  Except for the ribbon and brown card stock, all of my supplies can be found at Flourishes .  If you fancy this set, head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter , for your chance at a one day only blog candy!!  Also, you have until later today to finish up your Sparkle with the Season card to win all 6 releases.  If you are not doing anything later, the Flourishes release with be over at SCS in the Flouri

Today is the third day of sneak peeks from Flourishes , and I get to show you two sets.  The first is a Holly background, and the second card I used the Santa set.  Both of these sets were created by a new designer, I'm sure most of you will know her name, she is Becky Fleck.  To know more about her, head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter .  They are also giving away these sets, for a one day only blog candy.  There is a lot of cards being shown today, so I will try to keep this short and sweet.  At the bottom of this post is the list of design team who all are showing off these beautiful stamps. For my first card, I stamped the background stamp in versa mark, onto the green paper, to make a subtle background.  The wreath is from the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set (which is quickly becoming one of my favorites), I stamped the image, distressed the edges and then went over the paper with some Tim Holtz walnut stain ink, to age it a bit.  The sentiment is stamped onto twill ribbon,

Today I get to show another stamp set called Holly & Doves, there are two different sizes of the main image, and I used the smaller one.  I stamped the image onto Flourishes paper in Memento ink and colored it in using Copic markers, then cut it out using a Spellbinder die.  The chipboard swirl thing is actually Tim Holtz grunge board that I colored to match the card.  The card base brown card stock from Bazzill and the designer paper is from Basic Grey.  I added some satin ribbon, and a tag I made out of cardboard (well the stuff that comes with your pajamas).  Head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter to hear about more going ons, and for your chance to win this beautiful set...they are having a one day only blog candy. Well, hello October, so very nice of you to sneak up on me. Today I'm showing you a peek at one of the new stamp sets Flourishes is releasing on Friday, I can't remember the exact name, but there are Nutcracker images in the set. This is a really clean card, I did a lot of coloring on the Nutcracker and I wanted that to be the focus. This is a really neat and different Christmas set, with a few lovely sentiments. There is a new sketch and sponsor (Just Rite) over at 2sketches4you . There is lots of eye candy, you should go check out what the design team created. This sketch was a little challenging for me at first, but I just stayed with the sketch, didn't veer off course too much and it turned out alright. I used some Basic Grey paper and Just Rite stamps , added some ribbon and faux stitches and this card was done (well I used some spellbinder dies too). I don't know about you but my weekends are too short, I didn't get too much done that I wanted to, so that leaves me a little more busy this week. I hope you all have a wonderful Monday! Today I'm sharing a clean and simple thank you card, you really can't have enough thank you cards. It is so hot in the south right now, I'm talking in the 90 degrees hot...I like warm weather, I guess I'm just not used to it in October. There are so many cute fall clothes I want to buy, but I'm not sure if I will ever get to wear them, here is to wishful thinking. Anyhow, I hope you all are having a great weekend! I'm trying to catch up on all my looming deadlines, so hopefully today I can start checking off boxes on my to do list. Here is just a simple birthday card. If I'm making a really no fuss card, I like to use a card stock that has some texture to it, it just adds a little extra to the card. The designer paper, chipboard, and sentiment element are all from the Earth Love line by Cosmo Cricket. I added some twine, then stamped a sentiment, to tie (lol) it all together. Right now my life is so crazy, but in a good way. I hate to make this short and sweet but I have a million samples to get done for next weeks release, well, more like finish up a few more. Today I get to go do the run/walk after school with my son, I hope he enjoys himself. I hope all of you have a wonderful Wednesday! "make a wish"

Happy Monday!! Did you all have a great weekend and WCMD? I had a wonderful weekend for sure. I made cards all day Saturday, and then on Sunday we took the kids to their first NFL game, all in all it was a perfect weekend. Anyhow, today there is a fun new sketch up over at 2sketches4you. For my card below, I used both the Glaze and Souffle pens. Do you see that black border on the bottom? Yep I did that with one of the pens, it really shows up well over patterned paper. See the pink polka dots? I used the Sakura pens on those as well. Even with coloring in the dots, and the border, this card didn't take me very long to make (15 minutes max). Today, I'm showing you a card inspired by a October Afternoon. I am so loving the Indian Summer designer paper from Basic Grey, its so pretty. My image is actually a digital stamp from Raindrop Echo Designs , it comes in different settings including a png format, so you can make it as big or small as you like...cool huh! I printed it directly onto some kraft card stock, then cut an embossed it using a Spellbinders die. To finish my card, I added ribbon (of course) some Kaiser pearls, and a Indian Summer chipboard leaf. This really didn't take too much time at all, gotta love that! Today, the Flourishes design team is focusing on the Finishing Touches card embellishments, for a lovely tutorial head on over to the Flourishes Newsletter . On my card, I used the silver mini-messages set, they come in a cute metal tin that you can repurpose, I like little things like that. To start, I measured my square mini message frame, cut out some paper, rounded the corners and then stamped the dragonfly and sentiment. To get the paper to stay inside the frame I glued it down with Zip-Dry (I seriously love that stuff). I cut an embossed the ivory card stock using a labels 6 Nestability die from Spellbinders. The tulip was stamped in Memento rich cocoa ink and colored in with Copic markers. All of the sentiments are from the Strawberries set. For embellishments I added some green satin ribbon, natural colored twine, and buttons, the designer paper is Earth Love from Cosmo Cricket. Tomorrow is World Card making day !! Woohoo!!!
